The Core of ARM Real Estate Solutions is Family

A little bit about Rome and Amy Lingenfelter

Amy has always had a passion to succeed at all she does. From her first house cleaning business in her early teens to her and Rome’s multi-million dollar Real Estate business, it’s always been about relationships and providing value. When she was just getting started babysitting, after putting kids to bed, Amy would tidy up the house rather than just sit around. Over 30 years later, Amy still has past clients who have become friends who say she was the best house cleaner they ever had and they would hire her back in a heartbeat if she ever cleaned houses again!

At 24, she bought her first home and quickly turned it into a rental so she could travel around the world. Upon returning to her hometown, she bought another house and jumped feet first into her passion for solving the challenges that arose from rehabbing her own home. She owned her own hair dressing business for 25 years, until she went full time into the real estate business several years ago. Amy has a keen eye for taking the ‘diamond in the rough,’ improving it and enhancing and beautifying all she touches. Her attention to detail, love of people and strong natural talents blend seamlessly into her love of real estate.

Rome never had any interest in real estate before he met his wife, Amy. She gave him a copy of Robert Kiyosaki’s book “Rich Dad Poor Dad”, and he was hooked. Real Estate went from being a curiosity, to an investment, to a passion.

Rome graduated from the University of Montana debt free. He spent his college summers working on fishing boats in Alaska to finance his education. Following his passion for travel, he was an exchange student for a year in Australia, and after graduation lived in Japan for four years, teaching and earning his black belt in Aikido. When he returned from Japan, he came home to Oregon, opening an Aikido school in his home town, fell in love with Amy, started a family and worked as a manager at Trader Joe’s for 16 years.

It all sounds nice and smooth and secure, doesn’t it? But there was an itch for something more. That’s where “Rich Dad Poor Dad” comes in. Amy had always had a penchant for something more, and real estate filled the bill. For most of their marriage, she and Rome owned rental properties, but when they saw the changing market economy in 2007 they sold ALL their holdings, cashing in at the top of the market in Oregon and positioned themselves to buy at the bottom of the market, when it hit.

In 2012, Amy and Rome started their real estate investing company and in 2014 Amy quit her job to focus on it full time. Rome stayed with Trader Joe’s until they could grow the business enough to support their family and they began looking for more consistent cashflow. After several successful wholesales and flips, they were able to build their business until, in 2016, they were able to both work full time at real estate investing. Rome became a realtor and financial manager, Amy honed her skills in negotiation and project management. They built teams of reliable people and continue to grow their business on the solid foundation of relationships, sweat and commitment.

In the last few years, they’ve focused on branching out from their home state of Oregon to own, operate and flourish in multi-family real estate with nationwide real estate investments. In 2018 they expanded into other markets, investing in single family housing in Arizona and a 147 unit apartment building in Oklahoma City. They began branching into Indiana with a purchase of a 12 unit apartment building in June of 2019.

In the process, they developed a passion for helping families find affordable housing, hence their launching into mobile homes, becoming licensed mobile home brokers. Their dream of owning and operating a Mobile Home Park became a reality in April 2020 when they sold their home and all their holdings in Oregon and moved their entire family to Terre Haute, Indiana to purchase and run their first Mobile Home Park, Whispering Woods Estates. After being in the MHP industry for a year, they purchased their second MHP Paris Ave MHC. They’re currently at the end of rehabbing the entire park, improving the community and bringing jobs and making affordable homes available to the community.

Residents, vendors, contractors and the community at large regularly leave five star reviews.

One of the things they’re most fervent about is helping people who wouldn’t otherwise be able to realize the dream of owning their own home. To this effect, they have supplied over 22 homes in the last two years to the Terre Haute Community. They know from personal experience how owning your own home can impact a family positively.

Their success hasn’t been overnight. It’s been founded on staying committed to family, keeping a clear vision and never quitting when it’s hard. They’ve focused on education, research, connecting with excellent mentors, and most of all, connecting with people. Their focus is always on family. Whether it’s their own, or how they can help other families realize their dream of owning their own home.
